A seminar at Shrewsbury Town FC will educate bosses about the new changes in the law that will see employers made liable for workplace deaths, and advise them on protecting themselves. The seminar on Friday March 14th has been organised by Health & Safety and Employment Law specialists mhl support and is aimed at educating and protecting company directors and senior staff who will be affected by the new corporate manslaughter legislation when it comes into force on April 6th this year. mhl support, the UK’s fastest-growing Health and Safety and Employment Law provider and their Health and Safety Specialist Criminal defence lawyer, Alan Millband, will be delivering the facts about the new government laws at the event, which is free of charge. During the event, guests will find out who the laws apply to, what kind of work is covered, what failings will be targeted, who constitutes senior management and their duties. They will also find out what the consequences of prosecution are in terms of media coverage, fines and further action, and will be advised on staying on the right side of the law. Mhl support CEO Marc Schroder said: “This legislation will have an enormous impact on UK companies, and it is vital that senior management fully understand their roles and responsibilities, and the implications the law can have on their business. "By simply investing a couple of hours, they can ensure they are in possession of all the relevant facts, and that they remain on the right side of the law moving forward,” he added. Alan Millband is a stimulating and accomplished public speaker, presenting regularly in external lectures and seminars, and specialises in legal diagnostic and compliance advice to assist clients in avoiding investigation and action by enforcing authorities. The seminar runs from 9.30am-11.30am, and hot breakfast sandwiches will be served. |
